Dr Karen Grylls

Karen Grylls is the Associate Head of Undergraduate Studies, the Associate-Professor in Conducting and Head of Choral Studies at the University of Auckland. She is a board member of the International Federation of Choral Music. She directed the Auckland Dorian Choir (1985-1998), and assumed the position of Artistic Director of TOWER New Zealand Youth Choir in 1989.
Karen founded the adult national TOWER Voices New Zealand in March 1998. She directed the New Zealand National Youth Choir which won ‘Choir Of The World’ at the Llanglollen Eisteddfod in 1999 and represented New Zealand at the 1996 World Choral Symposium in Sydney. In addition to being the current Artistic Director of the Tower New Zealand Youth Choir and Tower Voices Karen also directs the University of Auckland Chamber Choir.
