April Chor gets into the swing

April Chor, from Gattschina in St Petersburg, move to this Russian folk music. Elena Voronec conducted this rehearsal but she seemed to do so almost in committee with Marina Kaplan, the choir director, and Elena Smirnova, the accompanist. They each seemed to feel responsibility for the performance and displaced each other addressing the girls seamlessly.

Apart from the tradition of the way this song is presented with dance, how much does the movement help them sing? This was a traditional Russian folksong and the choir danced to it as they sang. Someone opined that the movement helped the singing.
